PCD/CBN contour milling cutters with »Cool Injection« for mould and tool making

At the EUROMOLD LACH DIAMANT

is presenting a world novelty

PCD/CBN contour milling cutters with »Cool Injection«
for mould and tool making

For the first time LACH DIAMANT shows the patented »Cool Injection« – direct cooling – system using the example of the PCD/CBN contour milling cutters which are used to an increasing extent in the mould and tool making industry.

The polycrystalline diamond (PCD) respectively boron nitride (CBN) cutting edge is part of the cooling channel which is integrated in the tool holder. The “muzzle opening” for the coolant stream – air or liquid – is located directly in the face of the cutting edge. Result: The coolant leaves directly on the cutting edge – this reduces the thermal load of the PCD/CBN cutting edge during the cutting process.

Result: The coolant leaves directly on the cutting edge – this reduces the thermal load of the PCD/CBN cutting edge during the cutting process.

But more than that: best possible surface qualities are achieved due to best chip evacuation.

Conclusion for the mould and tool making industry:
Ball end mills, torus cutters as well as corner radius mills can optionally be supplied with the integrated  »Cool Injection« – cooling system.

»Cool Injection« – direct cooling – is available both for PCD and CBN contour milling cutters.

When PCD is applied as cutting material for processing aluminium, copper, graphite, synthetic materials, CFRP and CRP, rubber materials, carbide and ceramic green compacts all types of cooling agents can be used. When using CBN for processing hardened steels, PM-steels or cast iron the suitable coolant will be air or MMKS.
