Free cutting – aggressive grinding / deburring with electroplated Diamond and CBN Tools

In parallel to the increasing spread of „ light weight materials” – fiber composites such as GRP, CFRP, Clare – the demand for efficient and economic cutting tools for these materials is increasing considerably.

PCD polycrystalline cutting materials already have proven their superiority for a long time for cutting aluminium, GRP, CFRP and green ceramics, graphite and others.

However, an end of this successful development is not in sight – the »Cool Injection« – direct cooling – through the PCD (or CBN) cutting edge gives proof to that.

In comparison electroplated diamond and CBN tools can look back on a tradition of almost 50 years.

Files and grinding pins with diamond or CBN electroplated bond are indispensable for the tool and mould making industry.

Graphite processors as well as ceramic manufacturers appreciate the electroplated tools, especially because of the possibilities to coat economically and quickly the most different tool shapes on a steel body with coarse or fine diamond grit.

More and more processors of fiber composite materials now fall back on these long experiences in parallel to the PCD tool development.

The advantages for the processing – cutting – cut-off – deburring –
of fibre composite materials – GRP, CFRP –
are free cutting operations with a high stock removal rate.

LACH DIAMANT offers its know-how to all users in the selection of the appropriate diamond grit size for their respective tasks and machine conditions.

LACH DIAMANT provides a special service to all users of electroplated diamond and CBN tools: The recoating of steel bodies or of worn electroplated tools.
