50 Years Borazon™ – CBN Grinding Wheels

… and another Anniversary for Pioneer LACH DIAMANT

In 1969, during the spring tradefair in Hanover, LACH DIAMANT was the first manufacturer worldwide to demonstrate the grinding of HSS and high-alloy steel on a tool grinding machine.

The experts were amazed – because it was the first time they saw HSS chips “produced” during grinding…

At the same time, the first CBN grinding wheel for dry grinding of an HSS cutter had its premiere. These were the beginnings of LACH DIAMANT’s grinding wheels first known as Borazon™ – a trademark of General Electrics, at that time a manufacturer of super-abrasives: K-MX for resinoid bonds, Bz-Mx for metal bonds.

Today, in 2019, with a view to the international GrindTec tradeshow in Augsburg, from March 18thto 21st, 2020, LACH DIAMANT offers a proven selection of conventional diamond dressing tools, dressing rolls and diamond and CBN dressing wheels as well as trendsetting developments which were in recent years advertised under the slogan “Future for Today”.

After 50 years of Borazon™– originally advertised as the abrasive of a new era – the unchallenged culmination of success was the metal-bond profile grinding wheel »contour-profiled« – a time and cost killer for production grinding of high-alloyed steel, regarding profiles.

To date, LACH DIAMANT has not only solved hitherto unimaginable grinding tasks, but has also developed a special sharpening machine for regrinding even the most precise concave and convex profiles of 2-4 µ. It is available for service and for resale.
