Preliminary report about EMO 2011 in Hanover

LACH DIAMANT impresses with innovations for the automobile, aircraft, and wind energy industries

The observant visitor at the recently concluded LIGNA in Hannover could sense already what the pioneer and trend-setter LACH DIAMANT had planned for the Diamond and CBN tool presentation for the upcoming EMO 2011.

PCD cutting tools for fiber composite materials such as MDF, CFK, and FBE, as well as Diamond and CBN grinding wheels for carbide and HSS woodworking tools shape the image of the LACH DIAMANT booth.

“At the LIGNA we have successfully followed the trend towards lightweight materials for the building and furniture industry”, declared General Manager Horst Lach and Dipl.-Ing. Robert Lach at the LIGNA trade show review.

At the EMO this program will be expanded by high-performance tools for the automobile and automobile accessory, aircraft, and wind energy industries.

Everything together under the motto:”From Tradition to Progress”.

The tradition of Hanau-based LACH DIAMANT was founded in 1922 when as many as 600 diamond cutters cut and ground “brilliants” from the hardest material of the world.

Today, in 2011, at almost 90 years old, LACH DIAMANT is known as a worldwide innovator for the constant and further development of Diamond and CBN tools and grinding wheels.

Following the highlights of the past EMO 2007, namely the patented PCD and CBN chip breaker program, and the Hessian Innovation Prize-winning PCD mono-block cutters for aluminum and fiber composites, LACH DIAMANT will present for the first time »Cool Injection« direct cooling at the forthcoming EMO.

This patented process developed in cooperation with AUDI AG conducts the cooling directly through the chip surface of the PCD cutting edge to the hot chip, resulting in a targeted chip removal without the chip damaging or being embedded into the workpiece. Longer tool life is a virtually cost-free benefit.
