25 Years LACH DIAMANT Precision Tools –
Made in Saxony/Germany
Volkswagen had a major part in LACH DIAMANT’s success

It was German-German history in the making in retrospect, when VW delivered a complete manufacturing line for the production of the aluminium motor for VW Polo to the Barkas plant shortly before the East/West reunification.

The efficient aluminium machining without PCD is unthinkable without diamonds.

Therefore, based on their own good experiences, VW entrusted LACH DIAMANT with a bulk order of PCD cutting inserts.

When LACH DIAMANT became aware that there were only two to three suitable sharpening machines for super abrasive cutting materials in the new states, they established their own sharpening service near Chemnitz/Lichtenau, even before the reunification of East and West Germany.

Among the very first employees were Bernd Straube, Jörg Hänel, and Dieter Miton who celebrated their 25th anniversary on February 4th, 2016 in our precision tool plant in Lichtenau near Chemnitz. Congratulations!

Today, LACH DIAMANT Saxony features a production area of almost 27,000 square feet, over 50 employees, in a spick-and-span facility which produces PCD and CBN cutting tools for the automobile, aviation, and wind and electrical industry. The many patent applications filed during the last decades speak for themselves.

In other words, LACH DIAMANT’s plant in Saxony is representative for LACH DIAMANT’s worldwide success with precision cutting tools.
